About

I LIVE IN ASIA

As its name suggests, the Vietnamese mossy frog is native to the country of Vietnam. Found specifically in the northern region, this semi-aquatic amphibian spends most of its time in flooded caves and on the banks of rocky streams.

I AM AN INSECTIVORE

The Vietnamese mossy frogs consumes a variety of large insects such as crickets and cockroaches.

MASTERS OF CAMOUFLAGE

With it’s textured, green skin resembling moss, the Vietnamese mossy frog is a master of camouflage. Even their eyes have complex patterns, adding to the mossy illusion.

By visiting the Fort Wayne Zoo, you are supporting local, regional, and global conservation. A portion of every ticket sold goes towards conservation of wildlife and wild places. Each year, the Fort Wayne Zoo donates over $250,000 to our conservation partners

I AM IMPORTANT TO MY ECOSYSTEM

Not only does the Vietnamese mossy frog help keep insect populations under control, but they are also an indicator species, meaning their presence reflects a healthy ecosystem.
