I LIVE IN NORTH AMERICA
The bald eagle is the only species of eagle solely native to North America. Often sticking near rivers, lakes, and marshes, this eagle can be found all throughout this continent – ranging from Alaska to northern Mexico.
I AM A CARNIVORE
As an opportunistic feeder, bald eagles will adjust their diet to consume almost whatever is available to them. With fish being a staple of their diet, this bird will also feed on waterfowl, turtles, snakes, and even carrion.
A HOUSE FIT FOR A KING
Bald eagles are known for then large, exceptionally well-made tree nests, and they will often reuse the same nest for decades, simply adding new material over the years. The largest bird nest in recorded history was built by a bald eagle and weighed nearly 6,000 pounds.
