About

I LIVE IN CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA

Green iguanas are native to rain forests throughout Central and South America. Often found living near rivers and other water sources, this reptilian will spend the vast majority of their life in the tree canopy, moving to the ground only to lay eggs or to find another tree.

I AM AN HERBIVORE

Green iguanas are herbivores, feeding on leaves, flowers, and fruit.

GREEN IGUANAS ARE SOLITARY

Like many other reptile species, green iguanas are known to be largely solitary,

CONSTANT COMMUNICATION

Iguanas use their dewlaps, the thin flap of skin underneath their chin, to help regulate their body temperatures.
